Welcome to
McKibbon Hollow

Our Home at the Hollow
When we pulled up to this property for the first time, we were greeted by a herd of deer cautiously stepping out on to the back field for a mid-morning snack. As we stepped through the door to this old country house, we instantly knew this place was deeply loved - and we couldn't wait to make it our home. That was in 2018, and everyday since then, this land has provided us with great exposure to nature and the opportunity to learn so many skills from a bygone era. Our young boys - born and bred in the big city - now explore our property by foraging a trail in our woods, are always on the lookout look frogs & armadillos & foxes, and climb any tree within reach. This sweet southern country life suits us just fine.
A Return to Old Skills
We've always dabbled in work that's not exactly easy - we prefer to learn new skills and try our hand at various crafts (cooking, home renovations, gardening, etc.). Since our move to the great state of Tennessee, we've added so many time-honored traditions to our daily life: bread-making, beekeeping, gardening, rustic building, and our new favorite, chicken tending. It's been quite the adventure in learning, and we couldn't be more thankful to be stewards of our little part of the world. And, we are ecstatic to finally share all the beauty and blessings that this land, affectionately known as McKibbon Hollow, has to offer.

The Bread Basket at McKibbon Hollow
In early 2020, we opened The Bread Basket at McKibbon Hollow. After taking a great class at our local Culinary Arts Center, I spent a year learning the craft of sourdough bread-making. I've always loved baking and cooking for a crowd, so it was a natural shift to offer my from-scratch goods to our local neighbors and surrounding community. My husband brought my vision to life - he built a beautiful rustic cabinet with antique windows for doors (and a real tin roof) to house our daily stock of small-batch goods. It's been such a joy to be able to provide a stop for sweet treats in our rural community.
Sweet Betty Lou
The summer of 2020 brought the launch of our AirBnB accommodation on our property - sweet Betty Lou. Betty is a 2020 Riverside Retro RV - modern glamping with a retro vibe. She's fully equipped with a queen size bed, complete kitchen and full bathroom. Guests will have their own private camping area with a view of our 70-year old barn, fresh eggs from our very own flock of McKibbon Hollow Hens, and tour the property via our wooded walking trails. We have a fire pit set up for you to enjoy the big night sky. Further, our rental includes access to our McKibbon Hollow Menu - all items made from scratch and brought to your door. If this sounds good to you, check out www.airbnb.com/h/mckibbonhollow for availability!
