Bees & Bagels Rustic Workshop
Pull up a seat at my table for my new workshop series: From Scratch Fridays! All workshops are held here at McKibbon Hollow in sweet little Culleoka, TN. I’m offering TWO Workshops this spring as seating is limited (same workshop, just different dates).

Friday, 3/7/25 at 11:00 a.m. - 1:30(ish) p.m.
One hobby that teaches me time and time again is beekeeping. If you are looking to be a life-long student, honey bees might be for you. In this introductory workshop, I’ll give a brief overview of how I run my apiary, what happens in a hive, and all the buzz about honey. This workshop will cover simple topics like: breakdown of hive basics (roles in the hive), an overview of woodenware (Langstroth Hives), tools, and personal protection equipment, and structure of a hive. I’ll go over what to look for in a frame (eggs, larvae, brood, nectar, honey, etc.) and a brief overview of honey extraction.
Please note, this is NOT a hands-on course; we will not be getting into the hives. It is an introductory workshop that will review the very basics of beekeeping, as a primer for more in depth classes. Participants will get a packet of resources (including information on wonderful local beekeepers - Bee Kept and Sweeney Hill Farm - who offer more in depth, hands-on classes) as well as book recommendations for getting started with bees. In addition, we will break bread together & enjoy a Sourdough Bagel Bar as we discuss these beautiful and fascinating creatures.
Before you reserve your seat, please note:
Given that the nature of these workshops will focus heavily on instruction, I will not have childcare available for your little ones. Please make alternative arrangements for your children, so you can participate fully in the workshop.
This is a ticketed event. You must purchase your seat in advance, so that I can prepare enough materials and freshly baked treats.
All workshops must have a minimum of 4 attendees for the workshop to run. If the workshop is canceled due to attendance, you will be notified and refunded in full.
If you decide to cancel anytime within 48 hours of the workshop, I am unable to offer a refund due to the amount of prep required from these workshops and your seat.
The week of the workshop, if you want to move your seat to a different workshop on a different date, there’s a $25 Workshop Change Fee. I’ll send you a link to pay the fee, and sign you up for the new date.
Make sure to use an email you check frequently upon payment, as all details regarding the workshop will be sent there. An email with final details will be sent the week of your workshop.
We do have a dog in the home, please be aware in case of allergies. He will be crated during our workshop, as he is loving but still a very excitable puppy!
